Dear East Middle School Families,
I hope this finds you well.
Last week was a hard week! Wow. Every student in the school experienced the dreaded KSA tests. I'm so proud of the effort they've given through these first assessments. We're rounding the corner with only four more tests to go.
By the time you read this, we'll only have 10 days of school remaining!
KSA Testing
We're more than halfway through testing. It has gone well so far.
Our sixth graders are done - Whew!
Our seventh graders will have Science on Monday.
Our eighth graders have Social Studies on Monday / Writing on Tuesday / and Writing again on Wednesday.
Please help us keep the students motivated! I know that is a BIG ASK. The realization that summer is so close is weighing on the building right now. Students all over the state are struggling through this, and I would put ours up against any of them. We just need them to realize it. Please stay vigilant with your encouragement and expectations (especially through testing) as we close out the school year.

Location: Shelby County High School Gymnasium
Time: Doors open at 4:45. Event will last from 5:00 - 6:00
Dress: Semi-formal
Who can come: Non-ticketed event, open to all
Parking: Behind Shelby County High School (enter through the rear gym doors)

Heritage Elementary - Ceiling Tiles
Current seventh & eighth graders who attended Heritage:
With the renovation at Heritage, the student-created ceiling tile art will be replaced. If you are interested in claiming your artwork, stop by Heritage Elementary any time between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to pick up your tile. If those hours do not work for you, please email Denise.Mcclain@shelby.kyschools.us to make other arrangements. Deadline is May 23rd.

Fundraiser items and prizes will be delivered on May 19th! Students will be called down to the choir room to retrieve them that day. Please double check that all items are present and let Mr. Smith know if there are any issues.
ALL school owned instruments will need to be returned to the band room for inventory the last week of school.
