Dear East Middle School Families,
I hope this finds you well.
8th-Grade Defenses of Learning
Half of our 8th-graders defended their learning this past Friday. I experienced so many emotions as I witnessed the presentations. I was humbled by their authenticity and reflectiveness. I was moved by their struggles and triumphs. I was impressed with their academic awareness. If your student presented on Friday, pat them on the back. If your student hasn't presented yet, have a dialogue with them about the value of this experience.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Conferences are occurring Monday evening. If your student's teacher(s) invited you, PLEASE make it a priority to attend.
We're eager to work with you regarding your student's education. If you weren't specifically invited, give us a call and we'll arrange a time to sit down together.
PSAT for 8th-Grade
On Monday, March 24, each 8th-grade student will take the PSAT. We are offering an ESS session to the entire 8th-grade team to work on strategies this coming Wednesday, March 19. Please consider allowing your student to stay for this session.
9 More Weeks
We are three-fourths of the way through this school year. There is no doubt that as the weather begins to change, everyone is beginning to look ahead. It is an easy mistake to coast into the finish line. For many reasons, we can't let this happen. From the adults in the building to our youngest student, a mindset of finishing strong and with purpose is a life skill that will benefit everyone. As parents, I want to encourage you to keep communicating with your student about the importance of staying engaged in learning.
Thank you for all you do. Thank you for the opportunity to educate your student. We are getting better every day.
In partnership,
Ryan Allan
Principal - East Middle School
