students learning at the Frazier History Museum
Simpsonville Elementary 3rd graders had an exciting field trip to the Frazier History Museum ! During their visit, they learned all about what makes Kentucky unique — from its rich history and geography to the people and innovations that helped shape it. Students explored how early Kentuckians lived, discovered how to filter water to make it safe for use, and learned about the benefits of planes and boats for transportation. It was a fun, hands-on way to connect what they’ve been learning in class to the real world!

BELOW: Seniors at Shelby County HS got a dose of reality recently as the Youth Services Center and the SC Cooperative Extension Office (along with community partners) hosted the 3rd Annual Senior Reality Workshops. Students learned basic car care, how to sew, kitchen safety while cooking a meal, how to register to vote, how to handle a traffic stop, and financial management. Helping students be life ready is so important! #weareshelbyinspired

Our student leadership team got to spread joy today at The Little Lighthouse and the Shelbyville Humane Society. As a part of our community reads project, our school collected supplies for these amazing community partners. We also got to highlight the work of two of our fourth graders and their respective passion projects. Way to love, learn and lead!
