Happy New Year!
I hope everyone enjoyed a delightful holiday season and feels ready to re-engage with our important work. Unfortunately, it seems that Mother Nature is not quite as eager, as the weather has delayed our return. Today marks our first NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) day, and your cooperation is crucial in ensuring students complete their assignments effectively.
Parents, I encourage you to take a moment to verify that your child is completing their NTI work and that the work reflects their best effort. Although most NTI assignments are designed to reinforce previously learned material, this review is vital to ensure students are prepared to progress seamlessly when we return to school. During school hours, teachers remain available to address any questions or concerns you or your child may have regarding the assignments.
Regarding our return to school: At this time, I am unable to provide a definitive date. Several important factors must be carefully evaluated beyond road conditions, including the potential for melting and refreezing. Extremely cold temperatures prevent significant melting, and any thawing occurring during the day often refreezes overnight, creating hazardous conditions. Additionally, these road conditions may require adjustments to bus routes, such as utilizing central meeting points for pickups. This introduces further challenges related to the frigid temperatures and will be factored into our decision-making process.
Please rest assured that all decisions regarding school closures are made with the safety and well-being of our students and staff as the highest priority. I collaborate daily with a dedicated team to evaluate all relevant factors and ensure that we make the most informed and thoughtful decisions for our school community.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding as we navigate these challenges. Please stay safe and warm!
