The cold weather moved in, and we are feeling the excitement as our fall semester ends. I visited the SC Area Technology Center last week and was so impressed with the students' exhibitions of learning. Students demonstrated the skills and knowledge they have acquired while also showing their competencies of the Profile of a Graduate such as being an Effective Communicator, a Critical Thinker, and a Lifelong Learner. Several of our schools have exhibitions of learning coming up in December. Check our Upcoming Events below and join in the excitement of our exhibitions of learning in SCPS.

Also, this month, we look forward to our end-of-semester concerts by our schools' bands and choirs. They certainly put us in the holiday spirit. Come join us on Saturday at the Shelbyville Christmas Parade. Many of our schools will have floats or entries and we love seeing our families at our community events. Simpsonville Elementary is teaming up with the City of Simpsonville this weekend as well at their Light-up Simpsonville event!

Emily Swindler

This week we mourn the loss of our friend and colleague, Emily Swindler. Emily had a big personality, a big heart, and an unbelievable work ethic. She loved this district, her Northside staff, and her students. The work she did in this district and at Northside will live forever. We lift her family as they grieve the loss. Rest easy, Emily. We will ensure your legacy and work continues.
